SSD with Data Caching
What is a solid-state drive (SSD)? What is SSD caching and how does it work? Discover the key advantages of hosting your websites on an SSD-powered server.
A solid-state drive (SSD) improves the performance of any application running on it as compared to an ordinary hard-disk drive (HDD). The reason is that an SSD functions with many different interconnected flash memory units, so there are no physical parts to move. In comparison, a hard-disk drive contains spinning disks and every reading or writing process causes the disks to move, meaning the speed of an HDD is fixed. As the prices of the two kinds of drives also differ, lots of computer systems and web servers are set up with an SSD for the operating system and random applications, and a hard-disk drive for data storage, in this way balancing price and efficiency. A web hosting provider can also use a solid-state drive for caching purposes, thus files that are used on a regular basis will be saved on this type of a drive for accomplishing improved loading speeds and for minimizing the reading/writing processes on the HDDs.

SSD with Data Caching in Shared Hosting
If you host your sites in a shared hosting account from our company, you will notice their exceptional performance. The reason is that our cloud platform uses solely SSD drives for all the files, emails and databases and we don't use HDDs for any part of the hosting service. Along with the cutting-edge ZFS file system, this setup will boost the speed of your websites considerably. For load-balancing, we also use multiple SSDs for caching purposes only. All the content that generates more traffic or creates lots of reading/writing processes is copied on them automatically, so that the load on the main drives will be lower, thus the overall performance of all websites hosted on our end will improve. The abovementioned subsequently prolongs the life of the main drives and reduces the possibility of a disk failure, which is another guarantee for the reliability of any content which you upload to your account.
- SSD with Data Caching in Semi-dedicated Servers
All semi-dedicated server accounts that we provide are created on a cloud platform which employs exclusively SSD drives. We do not use HDDs any longer, so your Internet sites will load amazingly quickly as we employ SSDs for each part of the service - files, databases and email addresses. As some customers may host sites which are more popular than others, we also use numerous drives for caching. Our system finds all the content which is accessed more often and clones it on these drives in order to load it from them. This configuration is used for load-balancing purposes as we guarantee that several reading/writing intensive sites will not influence the performance of the other websites which are stored on the very same primary drive. Using caching drives also increases the life-span of the main storage SSDs and decreases the chance of disk failures. - SSD with Data Caching in Semi-dedicated Servers
