DomainKeys Identified Mail
Find out more on DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) and just how this option may help your business.
DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) is a validation system used to check that an e-mail message has been sent by an authorized person or email server. An e-signature is attached to the header of the email message by using a private encryption key. When the email message is received, a public key that’s available in the global Domain Name System is used to confirm who actually sent it and if its content has been altered in some way. The primary purpose of DomainKeys Identified Mail is to avert the widely spread spam and scam messages, as it makes it impossible to fake an email address. If a message is sent from an address claiming to belong to your bank or financial institution, for example, but the signature doesn’t correspond, you will either not get the email at all, or you’ll get it with a notification that most likely it’s not genuine. It depends on email providers what exactly will happen with an email message which fails the signature check. DKIM will also give you an extra layer of security when you communicate with your business associates, for instance, as they can see that all the e-mail messages that you send are genuine and haven’t been manipulated on their way.

DomainKeys Identified Mail in Shared Hosting
You will be able to make use of DomainKeys Identified Mail with each
shared hosting service that we’re offering without needing to do anything specific, as the compulsory records for using this authentication system are created automatically by our website hosting platform when you add a domain to an existing hosting account using the Hepsia Control Panel. If the specific domain uses our NS records, a private encryption key will be issued and stored on our mail servers and a TXT resource record with a public key will be sent to the DNS database. In case you send out periodic emails to customers or business partners, they’ll always be delivered and no unsolicited party will be able to spoof your address and make it seem like you’ve composed a particular email message.

DomainKeys Identified Mail in Semi-dedicated Servers
When you opt for one of the
semi-dedicated servers offered by us, you’ll be able to use the DKIM feature with any domain name that you register through your brand-new account without any manual setup, as our high-tech cloud web hosting platform will set up all the mandatory records automatically, as long as the domain name uses our name servers. The latter is required for a TXT record to be created for the domain, as this is how the public cryptographic key can become available in the global DNS system. The private key will also be added automatically to our mail servers, so every time you send out a new email message, it will have our platform’s e-signature. The number of spam emails keeps rising each year and very frequently spoofed addresses are used, but when you use our hosting services, you and your clients or colleagues won’t need to worry about that.
